Ok gonna take a shot at quit smoking, ive started the patch. But, as everyone knows with trucking, there are stresses in the day, and every once in a while my stress lvl spikes. Now im assuming this is cause I quit smoking, but am wondering if the gum would not serve me better.
Anyone here tried to quit, or rather DID quit and used a quit-smoking aid in doing so? Give me some input. And I know I could quit cold turkey, but well wait a sec, I tried that and no I cant quit cold turkey.
Thanks and keep it rubber side down!

`I quit smoking for over 2 years - and used the patch only for maybe a week or so. After that it's gravy...
I kept a little whiteboard and markers and chnged the number every day (number of days a non-smoker) once I did that for about 4 months then I did nothing. Just got on with life...
I used to think I would never never never smoke again - because it is so hard to quit. But I did.. and I have to quit again because their are cooler ways to die.. seriously..
I'm going do ti the same way again.. and hope for the best. I wish you well and I hope you can kick the habit depite the stress. Try doing other things to releive your stress too - like singing.. ha ha. Or hittin the CB.. whatever.. good luck man.. I'm rootin for ya

`Well I've been cigarette free for close to 13 yrs now and I got to tell you it wasn't easy we didn't have the patch but the gum was awful. but hey I'm still here and smoke free so I wish you all the best in what ever choice you make. I ate a lot of baby carrots while driving and it wasn't easy. so once again the best of luck...
